From 23 to 25 May 2016, the workshop on the development of indicators for the implementation of web portals as barometers for monitoring the implementation of the agreement was held at the Bamako Sports Palace For peace and reconciliation in Mali, the representation of women in elective and nominative posts and the monitoring of government action.
Organized by the Tuwindi Foundation, the workshop was attended by experts from civil society, the media and state structures.
The objectives of the workshop were to:
Develop indicators for the barometer for monitoring women’s participation;
Determine the sources of information for the Monitoring the Implementation of the Peace and Reconciliation and Gender Equality Benchmarks;
Follow the government action. Work began on Monday, May 23, 2016 by the opening ceremony. It was chaired by Alexis KALEMBRY, President of the Malian Forum of Media and Civil Society; In the presence of Marc AMOUGOU, Senior Technical Advisor of PAPEM; Dr. Kadiatou BABY MAIGA, member of the National Council of Civil Society and Tidiani TOGOLA, Executive Director of the TUWINDI Foundation.
Welcoming the participants, the Executive Director of the TUWINDI Foundation Mr. Tidiani TOGOLA presented the Foundation’s missions and objectives. In his intervention, PAPEM’s Chief Technical Adviser Marc AMOUGOU suggested that follow-up action be broadened Civil society sectors and private enterprises. He expressed the will of the PAPEM to accompany the TUWINDI Foundation in its actions of education and awareness.
Following this intervention Dr. Kadiatou BABY MAIGA praised the work that will be done to objectively measure the participation of women and invited the foundation to work in synergy with the state actors involved in the process of promoting gender in Mali.
